Mustard seed oil

Mustard seed oil or mustard oil is a fatty vegetable oil that is obtained by pressing mustard seeds. These can be yellow, brown or black mustard seeds (or a mix). The oil is clear and usually a bit darker orange in colour.

Mustard oil is best known in Indian cuisine. It can be used hot for baking or even deep-frying and cold to flavour dishes. Another use of mustard seed oil is as massage oil.
